This is an earlier version of the popular (but now discontinued) Virginia Pilot Boat Katy of Norfolk features plank on frame construction. A later version used a plank on bulkhead design with an already carved and shaped hull. The box is a bit faded and shows minor scuffing from storage. The balsa wood blocks used for this aspect of the construction are included. Also included in this sale is the popular Lowell Grand Banks Dory, which is considered to be a beginner’s or instructional kit. The kit for sale is factory sealed and has never been opened. A final component of this sale is an Exacto knife with refills, three paint brushes and wood glue, all supplied by Model Expo.
