Britten V1000 Race Bike. Up for sale is a limited-edition scale model of arguably one of the greatest race bikes ever built – the Britten V1000. The kit itself is a beautiful piece comprised of diecast pewter metal components with a clear plastic windscreen, cables/wires and rubber tires being the only non-metal exceptions. As written by John Britten. The Britten V1000 is a radical departure from conventional motorcycle design. I believed that I could build a better machine, but to do it I had to start from scratch, designing my own engine, chassis and suspension, incorporating a computerized engine management system and using lightweight space-age materials wherever possible. In 1994 New Zealand rider, Andrew Stroud, rode the V1000 to a commanding victory at the Battle of the Twins at Daytona Beach, FL, clocking speeds in excess of 180 mph in the process. To commemorate that historic occasion, Britten Motorcycles created this highly-detailed metal construction model kit. It is an accurate replica of the Daytona winning bike and just like the real bike, the kit was hand-crafted in Christchurch, NZ. In the hands of a skilled modeler, with patience, the proper tools, and time this kit can produce a stunning model on an incredible hand-built motorcycle. The parts are beautifully package in a green velour liner. The kit, box, decals and instructions are all in excellent condition. Photo of bike is for reference only!
