E-boat was the Western Allies’ designation for the fast attack craft (German: Schnellboot, or S-Boot, meaning “fast boat”) of the Kriegsmarine during World War II; E-boat could refer to a patrol craft from an armed motorboat to a large Torpedoboot. Fore Hobby are a brand new company from china, making a new series of plastic injection moulded kits. Their first launch product is the Schnellboot S-38 1942 in 1/72nd scale. Unassembled plastic model kit in 1/72nd scale of a German WWII fast attack craft Schnellboot S 38 class comes in nineteen sprues of plastic plus the large two halves of the hull split down the middle. Metal parts for gun barrels, railings and photo-etch are included, as are thread for rigging, ans masks for the included transparent parts. The decals for two boats, a nameplate decal, five sheets of photo-etch, gun barrels in metal, masking sheet for the windows and railings are included. All Items new in factory box. All kits – unassembled, unpainted. The model kits do not contain paints, glue and tools for assemble.

Italeri was founded in the early 60s, with that enthusiasm that only the unbridled passion of youth can create. Since they were boys, the two founders of Italeri loved airplanes and military vehicles. Soon they were no longer satisfied with the models available at the time: they wanted something more and better. What they wanted was not available, so they decided to produce it themselves. Their hobby turned into an accurate research, and became the motivating force to produce the models that modelers want, with no imperfections whatsoever. Thus the company asserted itself, always increasing his range of products and growing. Also thanks to the imagination and the talent of the founders and of their colleagues, Italeri in time became a leader in modeling! New engines and technological solutions were able to guarantee, compared to the First World War torpedo boats, improved performances and better operation efficiency. The German Kriegsmarine developed the famous fast attack craft S-Class during the 1930’s. Among the most famous Schnellboot we can point out the S-38 version. Produced in 100 units, it had a length of 35 meters and a displacement, full load, of over 100 tons. Thanks to its 12 cylinders Daimler Benz engines the S-38 was able to reach a speed of 39.5 knots. Armed with two 533 mm. Torpedo tubes, it adopted several types of defensive guns. Some of S-38 used the very appreciate 40 mm. Captured by Germans during the first years of the War, it proved to be a very effective and powerful naval weapon, ever more appreciated than the German ones. Special structure with wedge spoiler at the stern enabled S-Boats to raise their bows in high-speed sailing with three Mercedes Benz MB501 in-line liquid-cooled 12-cylinder engines, each with a max 2000 HP. The main armament of S-boats consisted of G7a steam-powered torpedoes, a total of four torpedoes were carried. Two 20mm AA guns at the stern provided secondary armament in 1940 when S-boats began service and eventually replaced by one 40mm Bofors AA gun in 1942.
