Model of a typical light frigate built in Britain in approx 1760. Unbuilt and complete, was sealed until today when I discovered it still in the closet after all these years. Drawings show a date of 1977, see pics. Parts are still sealed in their packaged compartments, see pics. Features: A double plank on frame hull construction, building plans with general details, English instructions, lost wax brass castings walnut or lime planking, wooden masts and spars, brass and walnut fittings, laser etched details, rigging cord and silk flags. All sheet ply sections are laser cut for accuracy. Colors and graphics on box are bright with minor fading from age, see pics. Box is the older design, has minor shelf wear. This model is based on a glassfibre hull with fender strips, plating detail, and port detail moulded into the hull. The main superstructure and decks are all laser cut from 1 & 1.5mm Hi-Impact Polystyrene sheet (HIPs). Also included are printed HIPs to provide the fine detail and finishing on the superstructure which aids quick assembly. Over 250 Brass etchings are included to give the superfine detail for this classic model. There is a full set of fittings in cast light alloy and resin to give the finishing touch to the model. A full set of waterslide decals for hull markings and draught marks is included.
