This model represents a Japan Line 12,000-ton freighter, and includes its original blueprints in Japanese along with the factory box and a full set of parts and assemblies. The kit showcases traditional Japanese craftsmanship and was imported by Balboa Scale Models during the 1960s-1970s, likely produced by a limited workshop such as Hallko or similar. Construction: Brass superstructure and fittings; composite (resin/fiberglass) hull. Model Type: Japan Line 12,000-ton Freighter (Takasago Maru class). Painted hull (red/black). Multiple pre-assembled gray deck/superstructure sections. Lifeboats, cranes, and detail fittings (some in plastic bag). Original Japanese blueprint sheet. Original Balboa blue box (shows age and wear). Condition (Used / Partially Assembled). Model partially assembled and painted with excellent craftsmanship. Some fittings remain uninstalled; bag of loose hardware and detail parts included. Blueprint in good condition with folds and yellowing typical of age. Box shows notable wear along edges and corners, with labeling intact.
