Still in the original factory shrink wrap, with any condition visible through shrink noted. Means shrink wrapped in near-mint condition. Like new with only the slightest wear, many times indistinguishable from a Mint item. Close to perfect, very collectible. Board & war games in this condition will show very little to no wear, and are considered to be “punched” unless the condition notes unpunched. Lightly used, but almost like new. May show very small spine creases or slight corner wear. Absolutely no tears and no marks, a collectible condition. May have medium-sized creases, corner dings, minor tears or scuff marks, small stains, etc. Complete and very useable. Very well used, but complete and useable. May have flaws such as tears, pen marks or highlighting, large creases, stains, marks, etc. Extremely well used and has major flaws, which may be too numerous to mention. Item is complete unless noted. Come unpainted and unassembled, unless specifically noted. Assembly is required for most miniatures and model kits. I was going to do “Battleship Row” in 1/350 scale from that fateful morning of December 7, 1941 but don’t have the space or time for it any longer. Here goes the description. These kits are for advanced modelers only. If you’re expecting Tamiya quality and fit, this is not for you! Modeller must be prepared to deal with resin pinholes and minor part breakage. I inventoried the parts and got replacements for what was bad. Bottom of hull is rough as they are pulled from one piece molds. Good news is you get a nice topside, which is the part you can actually see when finished. Modeller must be prepared to deal with broken bilge keel breakage. Easy fix with Plastruct strips. Includes a set of turned brass barrels made for this kit by a gentleman who is no longer with us named Steve Nutall, as well as some L’arsenal guns to improve the detail of the kit parts. A note about the photoetch parts – they will be sent separately in a sturdy envelope. When I got the kit, they were “wrapped” around the box and had to undergo a straightening process. I don’t want you to have to endure that or risk damage of these delicate parts. I did get replacements for the cage masts. Will be insured due to the value and nature of this item.

This is a special FULLY ASSEMBLED replica of the Skipjack, a traditional fishing boat used on the Chesapeake Bay for oyster dredging. It is a sailboat which succeeded the Bugeye as the chief oyster boat on the bay and remains in service due to laws restricting the use of powerboats in the Maryland state oyster fishery. Master craftsmen using historical photographs, drawings or original plans meticulously handcraft these highly detailed wood models from scratch. They are built to scale with high-grade wood. They are 100% hand built individually using plank-on-frame construction method and are similar to the building of actual ships. Each model requires hundreds of hours to finish and must go through a demanding quality control process before leaving the workshop. The Skipjack models amazing details include: beautiful hand-stitched sails, finest wood deck planking, detailed rigging, chrome and brass fittings and ornaments. This model comes standard with a solid wood base and brass nameplate. Itll make a perfect gift for home or office decorator, boat enthusiast or passionate collector. The Skipjack apparently first appeared on the Lower Eastern Shore of Maryland in the late 1800s. Its development was precipitated by the decline in oyster harvests, and the need for an inexpensive shallow draft vessel. The design hasn’t changed in over 150 years, and the average Skipjack has now lasted well over three-quarters of a century, a tribute to their excellent construction. Skipjacks carry a sail design known as the “Leg-O-Mutton” Sloop Rig consisting of a mainsail and a jib. The standard design formula calls for a mast height which is the same the as the length of the vessel on deck, plus the width of the beam. According to legend, no Skipjack was ever built from a formal set of plans, but rather by “rack of the eye”. They were developed from the lines of the Chesapeake Bay Log Canoe, the Brogan, and the famous Clipper Ships. They are unique to the Eastern Shore of Maryland and Virginia, and the few remaining skipjacks still dredge oysters under sail during the fall and winter oyster season on the Chesapeake Bay.
