Bluenose II Kit # BB600. Scale model of a schooner from the year 1929. 1:100 scale Wooden hull. 16.93? H X 20.47? L X 3.35? W. (52cm H X 43cm L X 8.5cm W). CONDITION OF THIS KIT. This kit is brand new. It does, however, have some storage wear on the box and the edges and corners show some worn areas. A parts list was discovered online and every single part to this kit is it accounted for. There are no missing parts. There are no damaged parts. The blueprint or layout poster has never been unfolded. The instruction booklet has never been opened. The paper is very clean and crisp with no stains or water damage. The decals are in great condition. As well as a Canadian flag. The tiny brass and wooden pieces remain factory, sealed in their blister pack. There are no loose parts cut away from the wood. They are all intact. The bundles of wood still had their factory ties on them. This kid is brand new. But the box is a little bit faded on the edges. The schooner Bluenose has a very special place in the history of navigation and yachting. She was built in Nova Scotia in 1929, and shipwrecked near Haiti in 1946. A true copy – Bluenose II – was launched in 1964. All of the 600 Series Model Boat Kits (item numbers 600-609) include an easier way of building the hull. The hull is assembled in halves, on a table. This allows for easier assembly and is quite useful in learning plank-on-frame or plank-on-bulkhead construction! Once each half is done you join the two for a completed hull. Make sure you work each half in opposite directions so that when joined they marry up evenly! This kit contains English translation instructions, all measurements in the booklet are in Metric. Please note there is a larger 1:65 scale version of the Bluenose II model number 576. Paints used on this model boat kit are: BB#1, BB#7, BB#11, BB#14, BB#16, BB#17, BB#30, BB#36, + BB#40 thinner cleaner. This marvelous HMS Endeavour scale 1:60 SM 41 model was created by Corel Modelissmo of Milan Italy in 1970. This complete model kit contains all pieces for creation of Capt. James Cook’s famous HMS Endeavour. Measurements for this fabulous creation are: Total length=30 inches/780 mm, Hull length=22.04 inches, Height=25.98 inches/780 mm, Width=9.44 inches/240 mm, Port width=5.59 inches. This beautiful model kit has been well cared for, never attempted and is in excellent vintage condition with all parts and instructions intact. It is the perfect addition to your Navy model collection, particularly if you like British Navy history! The HMS Endeavour was a famous British Royal Navy research vessel, also known as HM Bark Endeavour. A well-known Lieutenant “James Cook” commanded this research vessel on his very first voyage and discovered Australia and New Zealand from 1769 to 1771. The purpose of this operation was to travel to Tahiti to observe the transit of Venus in front of the Sun, thus contributing to astronomy and navigation. Another mission was to determine if there was an unknown southern land, originally known as Terra Australis Incognita. The navy then renamed her as His Majesty’s Bark the Endeavour. She left Plymouth on 25 August 1768 and arrived in Tahiti on 13th April 1769. The crew of James Cook established very good relations with the Tahitians and remained on the island for three months. HMS Endeavour arrived on the island of New Zealand on 4 October 1769 and for six months the crew visited the islands and subsequently established the fact that there were actually two islands. Due to bad weather conditions, Cook abandoned his search for Terra Australis on 31 March 1770 and arrived at New Holland on 19 April 1770. HMS Endeavour again departed on 16 May 1770 along the coast of Australia. Nine days later, the HME Endeavour arrived at what is now known as the town of Cook. The vessel remained there for 6 days for repair. In 1793 she ran aground off Rhode Island and was demolished.
