Custom and Fan-Made. 3D Printed with high quality PLA/Resin material. Please select your choice of 1″, 3″, 6″ or 12″ version of this model. For 6″ and 12″, you will receive the 3-part kit shown in the second photo. An adhesive such as super glue will be needed. The 1″ and 3″ versions will be made in high quality resin due to their small size. Resin prints are able to get very small and precise details, so it’s more suitable for models in this size. Think of it like an endless tube of toothpaste depositing one line at a time. During this layering, there may be minor imperfections. On some parts, layer lines are also visible. A fine reproduction of a typical French sloop from the early 1800s. This model was built up using plans obtained from the French Naval Museum of Paris. A plank on frame construction, the kit contains:- Building plans with general details, English instructions, lost wax brass castings, walnut or lime planking, wooden masts and spars, brass and walnut fittings, etched brass details, rigging cord, sail canvas and silk flag. This Revell Technik kit features extra parts to add extensive lighting effects to the model. The Flower Class corvettes will always be associated with the Battle of the North Atlantic, even thought they were also used in all theatres of war in World War II. Alongside other escort ships she bore the main burden of the battle against the German submarines. The escort ships of this class were derived from the collaboration between the British Admiralty and the Smiths Dock Company, which in 1938 had a successful design for a commercial whaler called the Southern Pride. Sixty Flower Class corvettes had been ordered before war broke out and by the end of 1940 at total of 141 of the original design had been ordered. The first vessel (launched on 24.1.1940) was completed in 5 Months, the subsequent ones at a rate of one every twenty three days. Later these vessels were given a different hull with extended forecastle that improved their thrust and overhang to protect them against the Atlantic seas. In the course of the war the corvettes were equipped, among other things, with radar, more and more powerful anti-aircraft weapon. Total build: 256, Displacement: 940 tons, capacity: 2750 shp, speed: 16 knots, crew: 47 men. Port & starboard navigation lights. Circling radar & light. All cabins are lit.
