All contents in the kit are factory sealed – Corel does not factory seal the outer box. Ed in 1650, the Prins Willem was probably the largest vessel in the service of the Dutch East Indies Company, sailing with a crew of 254, plus 22 wives and children. After only one commercial voyage, she was taken into the Dutch Navy and refitted as a warship. She fought in the Battle of Duins in 1652 under the command of Admiral Witte de Witt. Construction is double plank-on-bulkhead with pre-cut parts. Ready-to-use fittings of fine hardwoods (basswood first planking and walnut for the second), gilded cast metal and photo-etched brass are typical of Corel’s attention to quality. Generous instructions (5 pages in English) and highly detailed plans (10 sheets with step-by-step illustrations) help you build an accurate replica and an impressive mode. Characteristics : assembly kit, instructions and construction plans in various languages including Italian, first choice materials, fine woods, decorations reproduced in golden cast metal, sheets of brass and/or photo-etched copper. The 74-gun was the fulcrum of the main European naval powers from the Seven Years’ War (1756 – 1763), until the end of the Napoleonic Wars (1815). In 1755, the British Admiralty undertook the fitting out, under the guidance of Superintendent Thomas Slade, of the first vessels of this category, the so-called Dublin class. Launched on 19 February 1760, the BELLONA was sent to support the naval blockade of Brest. On 30 December 1780 the BELLONA took part in the capture of the 44-gun Dutch Princess Caroline; she then operated off Gibraltar in the North Sea and the West Indies. He took part in the naval blockade of Cadiz; he was then in Jamaica, Portsmouth and Barbados. Although more than 50 years had passed since its launch, the BELLONA served until February 1814; she was scrapped at Chatham in September of that year.

This item was opened to ensure all requisite parts are present as well as instruction manuals. The packaging itself shows signs of age and wear, as this unit certainly appears to be from an older production run than any modern/current runs. This marvelous HMS Endeavour scale 1:60 SM 41 model was created by Corel Modelissmo of Milan Italy in 1970. This complete model kit contains all pieces for creation of Capt. James Cook’s famous HMS Endeavour. Measurements for this fabulous creation are: Total length=30 inches/780 mm, Hull length=22.04 inches, Height=25.98 inches/780 mm, Width=9.44 inches/240 mm, Port width=5.59 inches. This beautiful model kit has been well cared for, never attempted and is in excellent vintage condition with all parts and instructions intact. It is the perfect addition to your Navy model collection, particularly if you like British Navy history! The HMS Endeavour was a famous British Royal Navy research vessel, also known as HM Bark Endeavour. A well-known Lieutenant “James Cook” commanded this research vessel on his very first voyage and discovered Australia and New Zealand from 1769 to 1771. The purpose of this operation was to travel to Tahiti to observe the transit of Venus in front of the Sun, thus contributing to astronomy and navigation. Another mission was to determine if there was an unknown southern land, originally known as Terra Australis Incognita. The navy then renamed her as His Majesty’s Bark the Endeavour. She left Plymouth on 25 August 1768 and arrived in Tahiti on 13th April 1769. The crew of James Cook established very good relations with the Tahitians and remained on the island for three months. HMS Endeavour arrived on the island of New Zealand on 4 October 1769 and for six months the crew visited the islands and subsequently established the fact that there were actually two islands. Due to bad weather conditions, Cook abandoned his search for Terra Australis on 31 March 1770 and arrived at New Holland on 19 April 1770. HMS Endeavour again departed on 16 May 1770 along the coast of Australia. Nine days later, the HME Endeavour arrived at what is now known as the town of Cook. The vessel remained there for 6 days for repair. In 1793 she ran aground off Rhode Island and was demolished.
