The kit box measures approximately 29″ x 10″ x 3 and contains everything needed to construct a detailed 1:93 scale double-planked model of this famous American 54 gun warship. The completed model will measure approximately 38″ long x 26″ tall. I bought the kit and tools with every intention of completing the model, but only worked on it sporadically over many years and didn’t progress very far (placed the bulkheads on the keel, installed the main deck and gun ports, and did a bit of of planking; see accompanying photos). Then a cross-country move several years ago required packing everything and storing it. Once settled into a new home I found that I did not have the space, time, or inclination to continue working on the model. Nothing has been removed from the kit box except the parts already used to construct the portion of the model shown in the photos; all remaining parts and the original 10 sheets of construction diagrams remain in the original kit box. These include a planking vise for holding the hull in place while applying planks (for proper stability, the planking vise itself must first be secured to a work surface), a timber tapering tool that secures planks so they can be trimmed as needed, an electric plank bender, a rope-making tool called “String-Along”, a ratline-making tool called “Loom-a-Line”, a set of 10 thumb clamps to help install planks, a set of 6 special rods to help install rigging, a miniature mitre box & razor saw blade, a set of 12 miniature files, and a bag of 10mm brass nails.
