The kit is complete and has been opened and has a couple of parts off of the sprue. The kit has not been started. The decals are missing. The box is pretty beat up, and has some writing on one end. It was made by a master builder who died recently at age 89. The model is 26 1/4 long, including bowsprit. The piece at the bottom of the hull has numbers and letters on one side, something like a builder’s model might have. Comes with the stand. The wood is very smooth and firm, so it may be basswood. It doesn’t seem like balsa. Very interesting nautical piece. When I bought this model, I was told that the elderly builder made these hull models so that he could give them to patients at Veterans’ Administration hospitals, so that they could finish them if they wished. I don’t have a name for the model and I’m not sure if it was from a kit. Perhaps he built them from “scratch”, using plans. This one came from his estate.
