Missouri would be the last battleship completed by the United States and was the site of the formal surrender of the Empire of Japan, which ended WWII. Her keel was laid on January 6, 1941, launched on January 29, 1944 and commissioned in June 11, 1944. In the Pacific Theater of WWII, she fought in the battles of Iwo Jima and Okinawa and shelled the Japanese home islands, and later went on to fight in the Korean War from 1950 to 1953. This kit will represent USS Missouri as she appeared at the end of WWII.
